Cosy as….. Wish these Woombie Original Swaddle Sleepsuits or the newer ErgoCocoon Zip Up Swaddle by ErgoPouch aka baby straight-jackets (for want of a better description) had been around for my little beauties. Essentially they take all the muss ‘n fuss out of that darned swaddle, that only the strictest of maternity nurses ever seem to have down to a fine escape-proof art.

I like my sleep as much as the next person (actually, probably more) so you can imagine how frustrated I used to get when awoken from my peaceful slumber to the high pitched sound of a wailing child who has proudly rolled onto his tummy or side and then realised that he has no clue how to roll back.
Well as tempting as it was to strap him down, this gadget looks somewhat more social services friendly. The First Years Nature Sensations Sleep Positioner is available from Amazon for under £15 and stops the baby from annoying nighttime rolls.

Sometimes (but not often!) it’s about substance over style. The elasticised table bumper from Safety 1st doesn’t look that great but it does work wonders at protecting spatially-unaware tots from smacking their heads on the edges and corners of tables. Available in small and medium, the bumper fits most tables and comes with four corner pads for extra protection against the sharp corners. It’s perfect for crawling/newly walking cuties.
I have no idea why, but it’s not easy to get in the UK but can be found on ebay or for $30 at Amazon
