Talking of Hallowe’en (err, we will be later so bear with me), nighttime toilet training can be a scary thought (see what i did there?!)! But help is at hand thanks to an enterprising mother of 3, Tracey Hollins, who has invented the coverdry Wrap Around Protector Cover. It’s a new wrap around (and machine washable/tumbledry-able) bed protector with a three-way use, ideal for toilet training at night. It wraps around the child and protects his/her sheets/pillow and bottom sheets from accidents – no more having to wash the duvet, pillow and sheets on a daily basis! It comes with pink polka dots for girls and army style for boys. Available for £34.99 from coverdry. Check back in a few weeks when we review the product by putting it to the test with a real-life bed wetter. Finally his bed wetting will come in useful!

New telephone-based service Greatvine could be a great option if you want personalised expert advice without the top-notch price tag. You get access to over hundreds of experts on over 80 topics; from breastfeeding help to advice on allergies and tantrums and eating to bed-wetting…and tips on getting back your sex-life after having a baby! But you pick when, where and how long you get the expert for. Unlike on the high street (or Harley Street), you don’t pay per half hour or hour but rather by the minute (the average rate being £1.50/minute), so you only use what you need. And it’s not just parenting advice either; experts also include business, writing and wellbeing.
Meanwhile, it’s also worth checking out the range of advice lines run by the NCT. Whilst not as broad as Greatvine’s, they offer wisdom on key topics like preparing for the birth, help with breastfeeding and advice on colic. You can also submit enquiries to qualified advisors via their website.
